Geocache Description:

Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, but is within a two mile radius.

For my second Cross Sums entry, this cache has two puzzles for twice the fun! Since you have to do double the work, the puzzles are a little smaller (but maybe just a bit tougher) than my first Cross Sums cache.  The hide and terrain are bumped up a notch or two as well. With this in mind, there are two gold dollar coins, along with my very first PathTag, for the FTF.

The rules are still the same:

The numbers in the black squares refer to the sum of the digits to be filled into the empty squares.
The number below a diagonal line is the sum of the numbers below it.
The number above a diagonal line is the sum of the numbers to the right of it.
Place one digit, using 1 to 9 (no zeros) in each empty square.
Numbers cannot repeat within any particular digit combination.

For example, if the puzzle calls for two digits that add up to 4, the only possible combination of numbers that can be used are 1 and 3.  (Using 2 and 2 is not allowed.)

This time around, solving the first puzzle will lead you to the north coordinates and the second puzzle the west. Use the following to get the numbers you need:

North (1st Puzzle): K2, D5, I8, E9, C12, F9, L11 (checksum = 25)
West (2nd Puzzle): F7, I5, C4, E7, I9, G3, E5 (checksum = 41)

Puzzle

While not impossible, this cache will be harder to get to and tougher to find if there's a lot of snow on the ground. Please use your best judgement when seeking this cache. A hint to it's location will be given in certitude.

Hints for the puzzles will be posted after one week.

1/11/2013 Note: I hid this right before we got socked with a ton of snow, so I held off submitting it until better weather came our way. I went out and checked on it tonight and was able to reach the cache without any problems. It survived the storm without a scratch so I guess now is as good a time as any to release it. Enjoy!

Congratulations to Nylimb for being the FTS and Hale-Storm and Nan-Sea for their co-FTF!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
