Geocache Description:

A series of 27 caches along footpaths and short sections of road between the villages of Austrey and Newton Regis in North Warwickshire.

The complete walk is 6.4 miles or 10.4km and can be very muddy in places, there was standing water in some of the fields on the day the caches were placed.

“I remember this when it was all just fields!”  The colonel lived in this area and went to school ( I know, it’s hard to believe) nearby.  So placing the caches was a walk down memory lane, albeit a rather muddy one.  The M42 didn’t exist then and it was a lot quieter!

The route intersects the Big Cat series and you could do a figure of eight to bag both.  We’ve tried to entertain you with a varied selection of containers and they’re fairly close together to keep you on your toes.

The parking co-ordinates listed on the AA 01 cache page are very near the village pub so you could round off the day with a warming snifter in winter or a cool drink in the summer.  Drinking is not allowed in autumn or spring   There’s also a hostelry in Newton Regis which is open all day on some days!

There are a few other caches along the route and it may be worth solving some nearby puzzles before heading off, or so we’re told.

Enjoy the walk!
