Geocache Description:

This latest addition to the SideTracked series is to replace the 2 previous nearby subterranean caches which were a fun idea but not in such nice locations, so now there is a nice easy above ground cache just a short dash from the station, or so it looks on the map!

It might appear that this cache is right in the middle of the platforms on the station, and although you may well get off a train only a few metres from this cache, to grab it you will have to exit the station, and take a 5 minute walk round to a public road that overlooks the station.

This is also a 2 in 1 cache, as its not just part of the SideTracked series, but also a GRIM, maybe a first in UK! GRIM stands for Guard Rail Madness, (the "I" can mean Insanity from my experience!). The GRIM series was originated in Waco, Texas, USA by Dr Hogg, who set over 200 of them, and this is in tribute to him.

Individual hides in guardrails (like this one) are not uncommon here, but the idea of a GRIM series is to set multiple caches at about 200m intervals along stretches of highways that have a guardrail running alongside them, numbered in sequence which then any other cachers can add more to. Its an extreme form of geocaching which may not be to everyone's taste, but for those who feel its all about the numbers, or like the idea of grabbing 100 or even 200 caches in a day, its part of the overall experience of geocaching, after which you will never be the same again.....insanity indeed! A GRIM should also be a guaranteed 100% certainty to find within a few seconds searching, so if you are having a bad day or had a run of DNF's then 'Go Grab a GRIM' to pick up your geocaching spirits!

You are looking for a magnetic micro, with easy access by wheelchair, and as always, keep an eye on the time, as you are a few minutes walk back to the station, though at least you will be able to see your train leaving without you if you linger too long at GZ!

Times are hard so theres not the usual $1,000,000 in there for FTF, just a few Geocache $'s.....

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Well done BigLad for FTF (again!) $$$$$$$$$$$$$
