Willkommen in Solothurn, auch bekannt als "die schönste Barockstadt der Schweiz". Solothurns heilige Zahl ist die 11; es gibt 11 Brunnen in der Altstadt, 11 Kirchen auf Stadtgebiet, die grosse Freitreppe der St.Ursen-Kathedrale hat 3x11 Treppenstufen und 11 Altäre und früher gab es sogar 11 Klöster hier. Nicht zu vergessen ist die Öufi-Uhr, welche nur 11 Stunden hat.
Du hast beschlossen, dein Immobilien-Portfolio um ein Objekt in Solothurns Hauptgasse zu erweitern und eine Liegenschaft zu erwerben, vielleicht sogar ein Hotel zu eröffnen. Wir haben bereits ein paar interessante Standorte ausgewählt; besuche jeden der zusätzlichen Wegpunkte und lies ein paar Fakten über die Objekte an diesem Standort. Mach aber auch unterwegs von einem Wegpunkt zum anderen die Augen auf, denn um an die begehrten Immobilien zu kommen musst du dich im Monopoly-Gästebuch eintragen. Wo dieses versteckt ist, musst du mit Hilfe dieser Aufgabe herausfinden!
Dazu brauchst Du die Aufgaben, einen Doppelmeter oder ein Messband und Schreibzeug.
Hinweis: An Markttagen kann es vor zwischen Märet- und Kronenplatz etwas schwieriger sein, die gesuchten Hinweise zu entdecken!
Nachfolgend gibt es zu jedem dieser Punkte ein paar interessante Fakten:
Börsenplatz
Der Börsenplatz bildet das westliche Ende der Hauptgasse. Bei Bauarbeiten in den Kellern der umliegenden Häuser werden immer wieder Überreste des ehemaligen römischen Kastells "Salodurum gefunden". Hier steht auch einer der 11 Brunnen Solothurns, der Georgsbrunnen. Der Brunnentrog wurde um 1545 aus einem einzigen Kalksteinblock gehauen! Hier könntest du das Restaurant Jägerstübli erwerben, ein schmuckes Lokal mit besonderem Charme. Einst gab es hier grossartige Fondues und andere Köstlichkeiten, unter anderem auch das legendäre Flämmli, ein ganz besonderes hochprozentiges Getränk!
Märetplatz
Der Märetplatz ist so etwas wie das Zentrum der Altstadt von Solothurn. Hier zweigt doe Gurzelngasse nach Nordwesten Richtung Bieltor ab. Auf dem Märetplatz findet der Wochenmarkt statt, der markante Zytglogge-Turm aus dem Jahr 1150 mit seiner historischen astronomischen Uhr steht hier und im Sommer laden Strassencafés zum verweilen ein. Der Märetplatz ist aber auch Schauplatz von tollen Festen, so findet hier jedes Jahr das "Jazz am Märetplatz"-Musikfest oder das Märetfescht statt. Ausserdem führt die Route des grossen Fasnachtsumzugs mit 20 Wagenbau-Zünften und 18 Guggenmusiken hier vorbei, am Aschermittwoch wird hier der grosse "Böög" verbrannt und im Winter steht beim Brunnen das weinrote Häuschen des "Cheschtelemuni". Ganz in der Nähe gibts den Cache mitts ir Stadt zu finden.
An dieser exklusiven Lage steht der Vigierhof zum Verkauf, ein an den Zytglogge-Turm angrenzendes Ensemble aus historischen Altstadthäusern mit Blick auf den Märetplatz, aber auch einem kühlen und ruhigen Innenhof auf der Rückseite.
Kronenplatz
Der Kronenplatz ist sozusagen der Vorplatz der imposanten St.Ursenkathedrale. Hier wurden 1958 Szenen der Gotthelf-Filme "Ueli der Pächter" und "Chäserei i dr Vehfreud" gedreht. Über die 3x11 Stufen der St-Ursen-Kathedrale wurde schon für grosse Hochzeiten (1999: Thomas Borer / Shawne Fielding) der rote Teppich ausgelegt oder Begräbnisse bekannter Personen (1983: alt Bundesrat Willy Ritschard) abgehalten. Der Kronenplatz ist auch heute noch regelmässig in den regionalen Medien, nämlich bei der Live-Übertragung des grossen Solothurner Fasnachtsumzugs. Von hier führt die Kronengasse Richtung Aare; das originalgetreue Kopfsteinpflaster ist für hohe Absätze eine echte Herausforderung! Nicht weit von hier ist auch der Cache St.Ursenkathedrale versteckt.
Das Objekt an dieser Stelle ist das ehemalige Hotel Krone, einst das beste Haus der Stadt, welches zu seinen Glanzzeiten Herberge für viele Berühmtheiten aus dem In- und Ausland war. Nach dem Konkurs im Jahr 2012 wurde das gesamte Inventar nach China verkauft, so dass sich ein kreativer Innenausstatter hier nun ausleben kann.
Baseltor
Das Baseltor bildet das östliche Ende der Hauptgasse. Der wuchtige Bau mit seinen dicken Türmen wurde zwischen 1504 und 1508 errichtet und war Teil der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung, von der allerdings nur noch die Schanze nördlich des Baseltors erhalten ist. In der Vorstadt steht zudem noch die Krummturmschanze mit dem namensgebenden 5eckigen Turm, dort wurde aber der ursprünglich wassergefüllte Graben aufgefüllt. Vor den Toren der Stadt rund um die Reithalle findet jedes Jahr die Heso statt, die Herbstmesse des regionalen Gewerbes. Zudem gastiert regelmässig der Zirkus Knie hinter der Reithalle. Unweit von hier kannst Du Bibbern vor dem Bipperlisi.
Hier bietet sich das Hotel Baseltor an; das Haus wird schon seit Jahrzehnten als Restaurant genutzt; vor einigen Jahren wurde es aufwändig umgebaut und renoviert, heute zieht der gut laufende Betrieb Feinschmecker aus der ganzen Schweiz an. Das Hotel hat aber noch eine Besonderheit zu bieten.... schau Dich gut um, dann wirst du sie entdecken!

Welcome to the City of Solothurn, also know as "the Most beautiful baroque City of Switzerland". Solothurn has a holy number: 11; there are 11 fountains in the old town, 11 churches in the city area, the big stairs in front of the St.Urs Cathedral has 3x11 steps and there are 11 altars in the cathedral, and in ancient times there were 11 abbeys. Not to forget the Öufi-Uhr which has only 11 hours.
You decided to expand your property portfolio with an object in the Hauptgasse and maybe open a Hotel here. We already prepared a selection of interesting places; you should visit all of the additional waypoints and read some facts about the objects there. But also open your eyes while walking from one waypoint to the other, because to get access to these eligible properties, you have to sign the Monoploy guest book. Börsenplatz
The Börsenplatz is the west end of the Hauptgasse. During construction works in the basements of the surrounding buildings, there were remains found of the former roman fort of "Salodurum". Here stands alos one of the 11 fountains of the city of Solothurn, the St.George fountain. The basin of the fountain was made in 1545 from one single limestone block!
Here you could buy the Restaurant Jägerstübli, a nice charming tavern. Some years ago they served great Foundue and other delicious meals, and the Restaurant was well known for the legendary "Flämmli", a very special alcoholic drink.
Märetplatz (Market place)
The market place is something like the center of the old town of Solothurn. Here the Gurzelngasse diverts northwest towards the Bieltor. On the market place - as it is in the name - the weekly farmer's market takes place, the remarkable Zytglogge tower (built 1150) with his historical astronomical clock stands here and in the summer time sidewalk cafes invite you for a break.
The market place is also the place for great festivals: the "Jazz am Märetplatz" with great jazz music or the Märetfescht (city festival) with lots of restaurants, booths and bars. Furthermore, the route of the big carneval parade with 20 floats and 18 bands passes by here and at the end of the carneval the "Böög" (a huge carneval puppet with fireworks) will be burned here. In the winter time, the purple booth of the "Cheschtelemuni" (chestnut roaster) stands beside the fountain. Near the market place, you can find the cache mitts ir Stadt.
At this exclusive location, the Vigierhof is on sale. This ensemble of historic olt town houses adjacent to the Zytglogge tower has large flats with view over the Märetplatz, but also a cool and quiet court on the back side.
Kronenplatz (Crown plaza)
The crown plaza is the vestibule of the St.Urs Cathedral. In 1959, this place was the film set for some well known swiss films inspired by the books of swiss national writer Jeremias Gotthelf. Over the 3x11 steps of the cathedral's stairs there was laid out the red carpet for great weddings (1999: Thomas Borer / Shawne Fielding) or funerals of well known persons (1983: former Bundesrat Willy Ritschard)
Also today the crown plaza is in the regional press from time to time: there is a live broadcast of the carneval parade in the regional TV every year. Towards south the Kronengasse leads to the river Aare; the raw stone road pavement is a real challenge for all ladies in high heels! Not far away from here you can go for the cache St.Ursenkathedrale.
The object on sale here is the formerly Hotel Krone, once upon a time the best house in the city. To its best times, the hotel was accommodating stars and starlets from all over Switzerland annd Europe. After the bankruptcy the whole inventory was sold to China, so a creative interior designer has a free space to do his best!
Baseltor (Basel gate)
The Basel Gate is the east end of the Hauptgasse. The massive building with his round twin towers was built between 1504 and 1508 and was part of the middle age city walls. However,the "Schanze" north of the Basel Gate is the only remaining part of this fortification here. In the southern part of the old town there is the Krummturm-Schanze (fortification of the buckled tower) with the eponymous 5 cornered tower which was also part of the cizy walls, but there the original moat was filled up. Here outside the city walls in the surroundings of the Reithalle (hippodrome), the annual autumn fair "Heso" takes place, and the national circus Knie builds up his red tent behind the Reithalle. A few steps from here you can search for the cache Bibbern vor dem Bipperlisi.
At this locatio we offer you the Hotel Baseltor. This old town building is used as a Restaurant for decades; some years ago it underwent extensive reconstructions and renovations. Today, the lucrative business attracts gourmets from all over Switzerland. But the hotel offers a special feature..... open your eyes and you will recover it!
