This cache has been archived.

webfeet: The road to the park remains closed. This is an inconvenience to some.

I have heard there are 3 letterboxes in the park, but I don't know the details, for anyone interested.

Geocache Description:

Located at Boone's Cave park. Precaution: the walking trail is overgrown and rugged. You may want to wear long pants.

It is believed that Daniel Boone's father moved to this location in the mid 1700's. There is an old homestead site, but all that remains are large hearthstones. See Team Hawk-eye's photos of the reconstructed house (it's located atop a hill, left of the parking area) The park received its name from Boone's Cave, also known as Devil's Den. You will pass by it on your search. The entryway to this 80-foot-long passage is small, only about three feet high. Legend has it that as a teenager, Daniel Boone used this cave to hide out from hostile Indians.

The cache is in a clear, plastic jar. First finder gets $5 wheresgeorge.com dollar (another fun internet game.)

PLEASE BE GENTLE WHEN REMOVING AND REPLACING CACHE. Thanks.
