Vuonna 2013 Seinäjoen seurakunta täyttää 150 vuotta. Seurakunnan keskeisin tunnusmerkki tänäpäivänä on sen pääkirkko Lakeuden Risti, joka valmistui vuonna 1960. Professori Alvar Aallon suunnittelema Lakeuden Risti on ensimmäisenä rakennettu siitä julkisten rakennusten ryhmästä, joka muodostaa Seinäjoen hallinto- ja kulttuurikeskuksen.
