Geocache Description:

The goldcrest is the UK's smallest bird. They are dull greyish-green with a pale belly and a black and yellow stripe on their heads, which has an orange centre in males. Their thin beak is ideally suited for picking insects out from between pine needles. [borrowed from the RSPB website]

An easy walk from parking near the target railway along the military track all the way to Dinger Tor, and a bit beyond. Real feeling of being in the centre of the moor away from everything and everyone, with 360 degree views! The cache is in a medium-sized pillpot and contains a stamp - dont forget to take an inkpad and some paper or card to take a copy. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE STAMP. There is no pen/cil in the cache. This cache is sited in an SSSI but within the Dartmoor National Park Authority Geocaching guidelines. However it is also sited within the Okehampton Range which is a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. PLEASE CHECK THE FIRING NOTICES PRIOR TO ATTEMPTING TO WALK TO THIS CACHE. Since 2 DNFs now I have added a spoiler photo.
