No seu traçado original a EN120 ligava Alcácer do Sal a Lagos e era uma das principais estradas de ligação ao Algarve.
Hoje em dia na sua ligação entre Alcácer do Sal e Grândola foi absorvida pelo IC1, mas daí para Sul continua a enveredar pela Serra de Grândola passando por Stª. Margarida da Serra, Santiago do Cacém, Cercal do Alentejo, S. Luís, e depois em Odemira volta a ganhar a importância que teve noutros tempos na totalidade do seu trajecto, seguindo em direcção a S. Teotónio, Odeceixe, Aljezur até chegar a Lagos, num percurso sinuoso e com vistas maravilhosas.
É uma estrada muito divertida para se conduzir.

In its original design the EN120 connected Alcacer do Sal to Lagos and was one of the main connecting roads to West Algarve.
Today in its connection between Alcacer do Sal and Grândola was absorbed by IC1, but thence South enters into the Serra de Grândola passing by Margarida da Serra, Santiago Cacém, Cercal, S. Luis, and then in Odemira it wins back the importance it had in other times throughout all its journey.
It then continues heading South to S. Teotónio, Odeceixe, Aljezur to reach Lagos on a winding course and with wonderful views.
It's a funny road to drive through...
