Geocache Description:

Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls are located off Highway 126. A basalt lava flow 3,000 years ago created these two foaming whitewater rushes in the middle of the Willamette National Forest. A loop trail connects the two waterfalls and the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail. According to the Willamette National Forest, the falls got their names from the Chinook Jargon words for ‘heaven’ (Sahalie) and ‘sky’ (Koosah).

Both sites feature a parking area, restrooms and interpretive panels with more in-depth history about the falls.
