Geocache Description:

A camping event staged over two years.

Friday December 28th 2012 ~ Tuesday January 1st 2013

Would you rather be sat at home, all turkeyed out, spending another day with the outlaws, watching endless repeats ~ Wizard of Oz, Only Fools and Horses Christmas special 1990/1/2 etc. etc. on the telly? Listening to the year end reviews, your horoscopes for next year and wearing that naff jumper that your Granny knitted for you.

OR

Doing something totally outrageous like camping! (you could still wear that naff jumper that Granny knitted for you)!
The site offers EHU’s for those who want to bring their campervan or caravan.

Stunning views in a beautiful area with lots of well favourited caches around, including some tremendous Earthcaches.

The site is owned by the pub which is right next door, so after your day out caching, go in to the pub and enjoy a decent meal sat by a blazing log fire whilst recounting your caching stories from the dim and distant past. Dogs are welcome in the pub, so you won’t need to leave them shivering in your tent/car/van or caravan.

From midday on December 28th until Midday on 1st January. All welcome, a logbook will be available for day visitors to sign if you aren't brave (daft) enough to camp.

However we will be in the pub on Sunday 30th Deecember from 7.00pm onwards where the camping group will be gathering as a whole. Please feel free to join us there to sign the logbook and meet up with old and new friends.

Telephone 01298 83345

Telephone the pub directly to make your booking. Tell them that you are with the geocaching group, ask for Keith or Chris.

The site is currently having some much needed upgrade work which will be well on the way to being completed by the end of December.

Price £15 per unit per night including EHU. This is for your unit, it doesn't matter if it is one person or four.

If you only want to stay for one night that isn't a problem, you are welcome to join us at any time during the event.

The site is high up in the hills of the Peak District so be prepared for it to be cold, wet and possibly snowing. This is why I have set the D rating at 3. This camping event isn't for the faint hearted.

If you don't want to cook, the pub does have food available.

All welcome, whether for an hour, a day or for the whole event.
