Μετά τις καταστροφικές φωτιές στην δυτική Πάρνηθα, έκανα μια βόλτα για να δω τι έχει απομείνει.
Δεν υπάρχει κάτι εδώ πλέον, πέρα από αποκαΐδια.
Την άνοιξη, αν το μέρος γίνει άξιο επίσκεψης, θα τοποθετηθεί καινούρια.

After the devastating fires in western Parnitha, I took a walk to see what was left.
There's nothing here anymore, but apocaides.
In the spring, if the place becomes worth visiting, we will put a new cache.

The Cache
The cache is located at the first kilometers of an passable and signed hiking trail in West Parnitha that is running through the ancient water conductor in the area of Chasia - Fyli.
Hike along the old water conductor which was bringing the waters of the ancient river Keladon, from a small dam near the Kleiston Monastery and followed the path Chasia, Liosia, Pyrgos Basilissis, was joining with an other water conductor of Kifissos River and was finally ending in the Elaionas of Athens.
According to A. Kordellas, it was probably made during the Venetian times and occupation (1204-1456 AD).

On the way if you want, you can get down (carefully) in the carved tunnels of the Ancient water conductor (WP AncientTunnel).

You will also find a makeshift children’s playground and a resting place amid ancient pine trees, the Avrami source, a faucet with running drinking spring water and after about 1,5 Km of trekking you will have to go a few meters off from the trail to find the cache.
The final access to the cache is easy as long as you pick the right ascent.

Finally it is worth to continue for a few more meters on the path to find the riverbed of the ancient river Keladon.
It is an easy and passable path, unreservedly indicated for children (it’s about one hour per direction).

It can be combined with hiking in the trails around the West Parnitha (link for instructions), by visiting the sources of the ancient Fyli (Provincial Road Fyli-Dervenohoria) with a pilgrimage visiting to the Moni Kleiston (monastery), or by visiting the ancient fortress of Fyli, and get lunch it one of the many taverns of the area.

Η ΚΡΥΠΤΗ
Η κρύπτη βρίσκεται στα πρώτα χιλιόμετρα ενός βατού και σηματοδοτημένου πεζοπορικού μονοπατιού της Δυτικής Πάρνηθας, που διατρέχει τον αρχαίο υδραγωγό στην περιοχή της Χασιάς – Φυλής.
Πεζοπορείτε κατά μήκος του παλιού υδραγωγού ο οποίος μετέφερε τα νερά του αρχαίου ποταμού Κελάδωνα, από ένα μικρό φράγμα κοντά στη Μονή Κλειστών και ακολουθώντας τη διαδρομή Χασιά, Λιόσια, Πύργος Βασιλίσσης ενώνονταν με άλλον υδραύλακα του Κηφισού και κατέληγε στον ελαιώνα των Αθηνών. Κατά τον Α. Κορδέλα πιθανολογείται ότι είναι έργο της Ενετοκρατίας (1204-1456 μ.Χ.).

Στην διαδρομή εάν επιθυμείτε μπορείτε να κατεβείτε (με προσοχή) στις λαξεμένες σήραγγες του Αρχαίου υδραγωγού (WPT AncientTunnel).

Επίσης θα συναντήσετε μια αυτοσχέδια παιδική χαρά και χώρο ξεκούρασης ανάμεσα σε αιωνόβια πεύκα,την πηγή Αβράμη , βρύση με τρεχούμενο πόσιμο νερό πηγής και μετά από περίπου 1,5 Km πεζοπορίας θα πρέπει να βγείτε για λίγα μέτρα από το μονοπάτι για να βρείτε την κρύπτη.
Η τελική πρόσβαση στην κρύπτη είναι εύκολη αρκεί να διαλέξετε το σωστό ανέβασμα.

Τέλος αξίζει να συνεχίσετε μερικά ακόμη μέτρα στο μονοπάτι για να συναντήσετε την κοίτη του αρχαίου ποταμού Κελάδωνα.
Εύκολο βατό μονοπάτι, ενδείκνυται ανεπιφύλακτα και για παιδιά (περίπου μία ώρα ανά κατεύθυνση).

Μπορεί να συνδυαστεί με πεζοπορία στα γύρω μονοπάτια της Δυτικής Πάρνηθας ( λίνκ για οδηγίες),επίσκεψη στις πηγές της αρχαίας Φυλής (επαρχιακός δρόμος Φυλής- Δερβενοχωρίων), προσκύνημα στη Μονή Κλειστών, επίσκεψη στο αρχαίο Φρούριο Φυλής,φαγητό σε μια από τις πολλές ταβέρνες της περιοχής.

ΠΡΟΣΒΑΣΗ
Μπορείτε να φτάσετε στην αρχή του μονοπατιού (WP = StartTrail) με αυτοκίνητο παρκάροντας στο σημείο Parking1
