Všichni to známe – někdy na přelomu října a listopadu, kdy babí léto vyčerpá zásobu pěkného počasí, se obloha zatáhne a podzim dostane zcela zimní manýry. Pohřební mraky zasypou krajinu prvními vločkami sněhu a vzduch zavoní kouřem z komínů. Tatínkům bleskne hlavou nutnost přezutí zimních pneumatik, maminky se orosí blízkostí vánoc, ale děti v tom mají nadšeně jasno – je čas SNĚHULÁKŮ!
Sněhulák a wikipedie:
Sněhulák byl zpopularizován v průběhu 18.století. V roce 1770 se v jedné knížce pro
děti vydané v Lipsku poprvé objevuje jeho název (Schneemann). Pravděpodobně nejstarší vyobrazení sněhuláka je na mědirytině Daniela Chodowieckeho, kde je znázorněn jako personifikace zimy a třeskutého mrazu, maje přitom hrozivý výraz ve tváři a koště v ruce.
V 19.století se pozvolna začal měnit přístup lidí k zimě, která již neznamenala jen čas strádání, a sněhulák se tak ve vyobrazeních tohoto ročního období objevuje výrazně častěji. V této době také získal vizáž „normálního člověka“, svůj charakteristický tvar a přívětivý výraz. Stal se oblíbenou dětskou zábavou a motivem ilustrací pro děti.
Jen co se sněhová nadílka ustálí na použitelné hranici, ožije okolí domů mnoha jedinci sněhulákovské populace. Velcí, malí, ze tří koulí, ze dvou, s hrncem i bez, všichni mají jedno společné – pocházejí z limitované série. Jejich životnost klesá s euforií rtuti na teploměru a barva se mění z bělostné na šedou.
S trochou nadsázky se dá zimní období považovat za čas strádání i dnes, obzvláště pro milovníky geocachingu. Stmívá se již pár hodin po poledni a zledovatělý pařez krabičku nevydá a nevydá… Pokud nejste zároveň milovníky zimních sportů, nastává právě teď čas pexesa a jiných hazardních stolních her u svařeného vína.
Pro ty, kterým ani závěje a nízká teplota nezabrání v toulání po kraji, je určena tato úsměvná keš. Inspirací nám byl projekt místních milovníků zimy Festival sněhu, jenž slibuje bohaté zážitky i v tomto ročním období.

Each of us knows it – when October ends and November starts and there is no more nice days left after the Indian summer, the sky becomes dark and autumn changes into winter. First flakes of snow from funeral clouds cover the landscape and air smells with smoke from chimneys. Dads start thinking about changing tyres on their cars, mums start worrying about soon-to-be Christmas times, but kids are happy – it is the time of Snowmen!
Snowman and Wikipedia:
The Snowman became popular during the 18 th century. In 1770, the name – the Snowman (Schneeman) - appeared in a children book published in Leipzig. The probably oldest personification of the Snowman is in Daniel Chodowiecki’s copperplate engraving which personifies the freezing winter with a terrifying expression in his face and a stick in his hand. In the 19 th century people started changing their approach to the winter – it was not the time of suffering any more and the Snowman was appearing in illustrations of winter times more and more frequently. At those days, the Snowman started looking like an “ordinary man” with his typical shape and friendly expression. Building the Snowman has become a popular leisure time activity and motive for children.
As soon as enough snow is around, dozens of snowman individuals are appearing near houses. Big ones, small ones, those with two or three snow balls, those with pots, those without pots -they all have one thing in common: each Snowman is a limited-series product. Their life span shortens, while mercury in thermometers is going up. Their colour changes from snow white to grey.
If exaggerating, the winter can be regarded as the time of suffering even now – this being, in particular, the case of those who love geocaching. The Sun is setting a few hours after the noon and an ice-covered tree stump is not willing to give the cache box... And if winter sports are not among your hobbies, it is now the time for playing pair matching games or other habit-forming board games with a glass of grog in hands.
This funny cache is for those who will fight snow banks and frosty weather just to get to the cache. Inspiration for this cache has been the project organised by the local winter-loving community - The Snow Festival - which promises real fun even during the winter.
