MKBW : Orange 26 - The Quercus Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Kitey: Due to changes over time, including building works and disappearance of caches and hiding places, it is time to finally archive the Orange section of the MK Boundary walk. It has already outlived the other sections (Red, Yellow, Turquoise, Black etc) of what was originally a 300+ cache series, by 7 years. Thanks to all the finders and favourite points.

Geocache Description:

MKBW : Orange 26 - The Quercus

The Milton Keynes Boundary Walk is a circular walk approximately 65 miles long around the boundary of the Milton Keynes Unitary Authority; it is waymarked with the Oakleaf symbol.

In 2012 a group a local geocachers divided the walk into sections and set a series of over 300 caches along the boundary.

More information about the walk and caches can be found at the website Caching the Boundary.

The Orange section of the walk is approximately 6 miles long and starts in Salford, Bedfordshire and winds its way southwards, finishing where the MK Boundary Walk crosses the A5 trunk road, near Little Brickhill, Buckinghamshire. The Orange section takes in parts of the Greensand Ridge Way, the Woburn Walk and crosses several Golf Courses.

There are 28 caches in this section (plus a Bonus) and each cache contains a letter to help you find the Orange Bonus cache, which is hidden near the middle of the section. There are only 10 different codes to find, so each one occurs several times in the series.

There are a number of other existing caches on or near the route; these include Shiver me Timbers (GC28HRP), Brass Band of MK - Woburn Sands Band (GC2GR3K), Aspley Pit (GC1Y2E7) and Greenlane Car Park - Connection (GC2N573), and who knows there may be a puzzle cache or two nearby as well.

This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid and contains a stamp and ink pad. Please stamp the log book with your stamp - if you have one (otherwise you can just sign as normal) and use the stamp in the cache to imprint your notebook / cache sheet / scrap of paper / back of your hand.

The Stamp and Ink pad are not swap items. Please leave them in the cache.
