✌ Victory in Ruins Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Psychoticjesters: Well, This has had quite the run since it was placed nearly a decade ago. My how the time flys by! I've since moved out of the immediate area, and don't see a feasible way to keep this going that still had the enjoyment the original site once offered when the ruins were still standing.
So I made the decision to come and retrieve the container (hey it's still a perfectly good ammo can! [;)]) and archive this one.

Thanks to everyone who found it, for the nice logs, photos, and allowing me to show all of you the old ruins while they were sill still standing.

Geocache Description:

I set up this multi-cache adventure to bring more people up here to discover these "ruins" located along the top of Sweeney Ridge. For leg 1 you will be reading an informative plaque which will give you the information you'll need to get the coords where the cache in leg 2 is hidden. Leg 2 is back at the bottom of the mountain, near the head of the trail I used to get up here the last couple of times.

Why a multi? Because the main purpose of this series is to get more people out here to discover this historic site. Unfortunately this area is on Golden Gate National Parks land so placing cache's too close to here is not allowed without a rangers permission. But thanks to some helpful information that was provided to me by Deadley You can see exactly what area is GGNP land (and other park terrirories) on this website: http://www.parksconservancy.org/visit/park-sites/sweeney-ridge.html
Originally this was going to be a 7 part cache trail entitled "The Road to the Ruins", but because of the no cache placement rule you won't be able to place any of your own caches while your up here either.
Bring plenty of water and maybe a snack as there is no food or water along the way which could be especially exhausting on hot days!

This area has several abandoned structures nearby, NONE of which you will be required to enter or go near for this multi. They contain rusted sharp metal parts and are weakening with each passing day. No one is up-keeping them and several buildings have already had their roof collapse. Wild animals could be inside and could attack you if cornered. I ignored my own warning and heard the squeaks of what could be a raccoon/possum nest in the wall of one of the structures. It is not recommended you visit this area at night unless you are a thrill seeker or want to try and capture some EVP's. Explore at you own risk!
2019 Update: Sadly the buildings at this site have all been torn down and only the concrete bases remain. While the sign remains and this cache is unaffected by the demolition, It's not as impressive as it once was.

To get the coordinates for where the cache is hidden you'll have to obtain the missing information from the plaque where the original posted coords will take you.
The final location of the cache is at: N 37° 37.ABC W 122° 27.DEF

A= Once a target was in range, a missile could be airborne in less than (*first digit only*) seconds.

B= The Missile Tracking Radar was located here.

C= Total number of missiles fired from all of the Bay Area Nike sites.

D= Which Battalion was the first to operate site SF-51? (The Battalion, NOT the unit)

E= 3rd digit of the year when site SF-51 first held nuclear warheads.

F= Last digit of the year the photograph of the Integrated Fire Control area was taken.

Cache is, appropriately, a regular sized ammo can with a couple pens inside to sign the logbook with. Original contents include 3 dvds, a reflector vest, someones custom trackable, and some other random toys and decals.
Congratulations to deadley for the FTF!

*Want to see inside the structures without any risk? Just enter the coord's to the final location in certitude after you get them for a link to my YouTube video I made while exploring inside them myself. (Scroll down a little after making Homer Dance)*

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
