The UK 2013 Mega committee and volunteer UK reviewer geohatter invite you to join us to start the countdown to next year's Mega Event.
In less than a year from now the UK's 6th Annual Mega Event will be held at the Heritage Motor Centre having brought geocachers from all over the world to celebrate our unique hobby.
But in between now and then we have a lot of hard work ahead of us with planning and fundraising. So please come and join us to officially start the countdown!
The Chase Gate Pub is a family pub restaurant located just over a mile from Junction 11 of the M6. Nearby is Cannock Chase - one of the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the West Midlands Region. There is a safe outdoor play area for the kids so everyone will be entertained! The pub provides a wide variety of hot meals which can be ordered in advance. For those of you who are travelling further to attend this event there are several reasonably priced hotels within a few miles of the pub.
Can you please indicate in your log how many people will be attending and how many people will be eating so the pub knows approximate numbers. They encourage you to eat between 3 and 5pm as this is their quietest time of day. If you wish to eat before or after these times then you should book a table using the code name 'geocaching'. This then entitles you a seat in the section of the pub where the event will be taking place.
There'll be lots going on:
- A Raffle
- Merchandise for Sale
- A draw for one of the attendees to "push the button" to publish the Mega Event!
- Competition for the first person to log a "will attend" on the new listing
- Presentation of prizes for the winners of the
Mega Photo competition
- A suggestion box for your ideas for next year's Mega - so get your thinking caps
on!
and maybe a few new caches...
The 2013 Committee would be very grateful if people could donate a raffle prize to use either at this event or at a different time, helping to raise funds for the Mega.
