Neliels konteiners ar zīmuli un logbook un suvenīru apmaiņai pie Liepupes slūžām.
Small container with logbook and pencil and exchange souvenier next to Liepupe water gate.
Slēpnis:
Slēpnis ir aptuveni 2 kilometri no A1 šosejas iekšā uz Liepupi, pabraucot garām skolai uzreiz jāgriež pa labi, tad aptuveni kilometrs pa zemes ceļu. Auto var novietot uzreiz pārbraucot slūžām.
Slēpnis jāmeklē krūmos pie slūžām, uz nogāzes dienvidu pusē (pa kreisi, ja skatamies no ceļa uz leju). Cenšamies noslēpt atpakaļ tikpat neredzami, lai nejaušie neierauga.
Vieta:
Slūžas uz Liepupes upes izveidojušas nelielu ezeru. Pavasara palu laikā ūdens straume ir iespaidīgāka.
Netālu ir Lepupes vidusskola, 80tajos un 90to gadu sākumā, kad ziemās ezers aizsala, uz tā notika fizkultūras nodarbības slidošanā, netālu no slūžām bija skolas slēpošanas maršruti ar foršām nogāzēm Liepupes krastu ielejās. Tagad ziemas sporta inventārs vairs sen neesot, jo nepietiek finansējuma.
Vasarā slūžas iecienītas makšķerēšanai un peldēšanai, pie tām esot baigais dziļums un vietējie tur lēkā no margām.
Papildus:
Ja dodaties līdz pašam Liepupes centram, tur ir paliels veikals un blakus muiža, ko pašlaik atjauno lai būtu par SPA vai hoteli. Pusceļā starp slūžām un skolu ir vējdzirnavu tornis, kur agrāk skolnieki skrēja pīpēt un šad tad notika tūrisma pulciņa alpīnisma nodarbības.
Cache:
Cache is ~2km from Via Baltica highway on road heading to Liepupe. Turn right just after school, follow non-asphalted road another kilometer. Park your car right after crossing water gate.
Search for cache in bushes on South side of water gate (left looking down from road). Try to cover it back so no muglers see it later.
Place:
Water gates have formed small lake on river Liepupe. During spring water amount flowing through gates looks more impressive.
Nearby school used to do sports classes on the lake when it was frozen during winters in 80s and first half of 90s. Now due to financing school has no more winter sports equipment.
In summertime Liepupe water gate is favoured by fishers and youngsters swimming on the deep side of gates, jumping in from railing.
Bonus:
Go deeper into center of village, there's a shop and old manor being rebuilt to become SPA or hotel. Halfway from school to water gate there's an old windmill, where school kids used to hide for a smoke, and sometimes there were climbing classes.
