Vybudoval vyssiu hradzu, pridal stavidlo a pleso znovu napustil vodou z potoku Mlynica, (ktory plesom preteka a vytela z neho ako Strbska Mlynica).
English:
Despite its name Nove Strbske pleso it is not a real tarn like the other ones in High Tatras.
In 1905, Karol Mory, the former owner of this land, had decided to build this lake beside the hotel complex which was being built at the time (usually it is the other way around and people build hotels beside existing lakes). The place which he had chosen was former tarn which was overgrown over time by turf and there was only tarn at the beginning of 20th century. He built a higher dam, a floodgate and the tarn filled by water from Mlynica stream (which flows through tarn and leaves it as Strbska Mlynica). The growing tarn problem persisted until nowadays and the tarn has to be cleaned regularlly. The fish was also released to the tarn and with exception of periods when the surface is frozen, wild duck also lives here.
The tarn is in altitude 1313 m. Its surface has 21280 m2, maximum depth is 9,6 m and average temperature 4°C.
Over the lake to the south on the Klat hill there are remains of a strange building which used to be part of the complex with view tower named Monte Mory.
