Sir Isaac Newton (Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, 4 de Janeiro de 1643 Londres, 31 de Março de 1727 foi um cientista inglês, mais reconhecido como físico e matemático, embora tenha sido também astrónomo, alquimista, filósofo natural e teólogo.
Sua obra, Philosiphiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, é considerada uma das mais influentes na história da ciência. Publicada em 1687, esta obra descreve a lei da gravitação universal e as três leis de Newton, que fundamentaram a mecânica clássica.
As leis de Newton:
· 1ª Lei: Todo corpo continua em seu estado de repouso ou de movimento uniforme em uma linha reta, a menos que seja forçado a mudar aquele estado por forças imprimidas sobre ele.
· 2ª Lei: A mudança de movimento é proporcional à força motora imprimida, e é produzida na direção da linha reta na qual aquela força é imprimida.
· 3ª Lei: A toda ação há sempre oposta uma reação igual, ou, as ações mútuas de dois corpos um sobre o outro são sempre iguais e dirigidas a partes opostas.

Sir Isaac Newton (4 January 1643 – 31 March 1727 was an English physicist, mathemetician, astronomer, natural philosopher,alchemist and theologian, who has been "considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived."
His monograph Philosiphiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published in 1687, lays the foundations for most of classical mechanics. In this work, Newton described universal gravitation and the trhee laws of motion, which dominated the scientific view of the physical universe for the next three centuries.
Newnton’s laws:
· 1st Law: All bodies keeps in rest or in motion, unless it is forced to change that state by others forces imposed to it.
· 2nd Law: The change of movement is proportional to the force imprinted, and it is produced straight in which the force is applied.
· 3rd Law: To every action there is an equal reaction
