[LAT] Puikule dokumentos minēta jau 13. gs. Puikules muiža piederējusi vairākām dzimtām, līdz 18. gs. to savā īpašumā ieguva baronu fon Klotu dzimta, kurai šī muiža piederēja sešās paaudzēs līdz pat 1918. gadam, kad pēdējais Puikules muižkungs Vilhelms Reinholds fon Klots aizbrauca uz Vāciju. Pēc tam apmēram 20 gadus Puikules muiža netika apdzīvota, līdz 1938. gadā to nodeva Puikules pagasta pārvaldījumā, bet muižas kungu mājā ierīkoja skolu, kas tur atrodas joprojām.
Puikules muižas pils celta neogotikas stilā ar interesantu ķieģeļu pielietojumu un monumentālu torni. Pie pils ir 4,9 ha liels regulāra itāļu stila parks, kas pārveidots naturālistiskā ainavu parkā. Parku sāka veidot barons fon Klots 18. gs., tā ierīkošana turpinājās līdz pat 20. gs. Pils priekšlaukums ir regulāra plānojuma ar koptiem zālieniem un celiņiem. Pārējā parka daļā ir brīva plānojuma koku stādījumi ar nelielām laucītēm. DR daļā – sporta laukums, R daļā – dīķis. Parks pielāgots skolas vajadzībām. Stādījumu pamatā ap 23 vietējās koku sugas, daudz liepu un ozolu, arī egles, kļavas, oši, vīksnas un gobas, skaisti lapegļu stādījumi. Sastopami arī atsevišķi eksotiski augi. Parks ir kopts, pamežs iztīrīts.
[ENG] Puikule has been mentioned in old documents already back in 13th century. Puikule manor-house was owned by several families until in 18th century it was acquired by baron fon Klot family that owned the manor-house for 6 generations until year 1918 when the last Puikule landlord Vilhelm Reinhold fon Klot moved to Germany. Puikule manor-house wasn’t inhabited for about 20 years till on year 1938 it was given to Puikule self-government to manage. A school was established in the old manor-house building and is located there still in nowadays.
Puikule manor-house was built in neo-gothic style with an interesting appliance of bricks and a monumental tower. There is a 4,9 ha regular italian style park that has been transfered in a naturalistic landscape Park. It was baron fon Klot who started shaping the park back in 18th century and it’s installation continued up till 20th century. The castle foreground has a regular planning with groomed lawn and alleys. The rest of the park has free planning tree plantations with small lawns within. There’s a sports ground in SW side and a pond in West side. The park has been adjusted for school needs. Plantations are based on around 23 local species of trees, lots of lime and oak, and spruce, maple, ash, elm and beautiful larch plantations. There are also some exotic plants. The park is groomed, undergrowth has been cleared.
