Geocache Description:

Our First Annual Fall TXGA Event


Event Location: The Lake Somerville Marina Campground
Campground Entry Fee: Only $2 for Geocachers! ($3 off regular price)
Event Dates: September 15 & 16, 2012
Camping Fees: $25 RV, $15 Tent (Also have Cabins available)

  • A Chili Cookoff: Click here for the rules

  • Voting for official annual name of event
  • Saturday night event dinner ($8.50 per meal, Chicken Fried Steak!)

  • Blue Bell Creamery Tours
  • Creative Cache Contest
  • Other Fun and entertaining stuff.

Event Schedule


Friday Registration open: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
1:00 PM First group leaves for creamery tour
2:00 PM Last group leaves for creamery tour (Cost is $5 per person, includes a scoop of icecream)
5:00 PM Hot Dog dinner potluck style. Hot Dogs and Drinks will be provided, bring sides!
 
Saturday
9:00 AM Registration Opens
9:30 AM On Going events begin:
  • Accuracy Challenge
  • Timed Cache Hunt
  • Geo-Trivia Game
  • DiscGolf Practice (Competition time to be decided)
  • Membership information booth & forum sign up
  • Travel Bug & Pathtag trading area
  • Voting on Naming Contest
  • Voting on Creative Cache Contest (entries must be received by 9:00 AM)
3:30 PM Voting ends on logo & cache container contest
4:00 PM All bake off & chili entries are due
4:30 PM Baking and Chili judging begins
5:00 PM The Great TXGA TB Race information session and Q&A
5:00 PM TXGA Member of the Year Contest information revealed
5:00 PM Texas Challenge info released
5:30 PM Winners of cook off & Creative Cache container announced
6:00 PM Dinner
 
Sunday
9:00 AM Name of Annual event and winner announced and CITO event begins
10:00 AM CITO Raffle
