Über Jahrhunderte trugen portugiesische Seefahrer Edelsteine, Gold und Diamanten zusammen. Um die Reichtümer vor den wilden Piraten zu beschützen, versteckten sie einen Schatz in der Nähe von Lagos und der einfallsreiche Tretboot-Kapitän Luiz entwickelte ein Hinweisrätsel, um den Standort des Schatzes stets wiederfinden zu können. Zum Dank nannten die Seefahrer Luiz von da an ‚Kapitän Obrigado‘ und ehren ihn noch heute für seine clevere Schatzkarte.

For centuries, portuguese navigators collected precious stones, gold and diamonds. In order to protect the riches from the access of the wild pirates, they hid a treasure in the vicinity of Lagos and the imaginative paddleboat-captain Luiz developed a reference puzzles always to be able to find the location of the treasure. The sailors thanked him and named Luiz since that time, ‘Captain Obrigado’ and honor him also today for his clever treasure map.

Durante séculos, os navegadores portugueses coleccionavam pedras preciosas, ouro e diamantes. A fim de proteger as riquezas dos piratas selvagens, esconderam o tesouro nas proximidades de Lagos. O imaginativo capitão dos barcos a pedais, chamado Luiz desenvolveu um quebra-cabeças para ser sempre possível encontrar a localização do tesouro. Os marinheiros agradeceram e apelidaram Luiz de ‘Capitão Obrigado'. Ainda hoje o homenageiam pelo seu inteligente mapa de tesouro.
