Skeerpoort is a small village between Hartebeespoort Dam and Magaliesberg. It is surrounded by farms and it has its own primary school.
The cache is a small, round container (approx. 125ml) which holds a logbook and very small trade items.
The Skeerpoort river runs past this village and the railway line is long gone, however a sign indicating a railway line in days gone by, still stands.
This is a busy dirt road but there is a bit of a shoulder to stop at (next to the cache). This road connects you from the R400 to the R560 to from the Hartebeeshoek area to Skeerpoort.
Be on the lookout for mountain bikers on the mountain bike trail running close by to this cache. There is a wooden bridge, if you look over to the side.
Road distance markers are most helpful. There are many types and they appear on most of our roads. They assist you to be able to indicate exactly where you are to emergency services, should the need arise. This particular marker, is placed 1km apart on the "D400" route.
