Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden near an area landmark.

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. “ Mark Twain

Mark Twain was the pen name of the famous American writer Samuel Clemens.  Described by some as the “father of American Literature”, Twain’s writing career spanned the era of the American frontier (Mississippi writings) to the early 20th century. Though perhaps best known for his Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn novels, his writing encompassed almost every genre from speeches to literary essays to historical novels. Throughout his writing was enriched by his deep sense of irony towards his own life as well as others.

Though Twain wrote often of the rural America of his birth, later in his life he lived in a variety of suburban settings, including here in Riverdale at Wave Hill, which he leased from 1901-1910 and where it is said that he set up a treehouse parlor in the branches of a chestnut tree on the lawn.

You don't need to enter the Wave Hill property to locate this cache, though it makes for a lovely stroll when you are done. Tuesdays and Saturdays are free admission days.
Congratulations Behistun FTF!
