Lizard Rock

This geocache is part of Colorado's South Park GeoTour, which means you can win prizes by finding 20 or more caches. Visit our website for more information and to download your GeoTour Passport!

Winter Access: May be difficult depending on snow.

Lizard Rock is one of many unique rocky outcroppings found in the Tarryall Valley. The Lizard Rock Trail will take you into the Lost Creek Wilderness Area and through hidden mountain valleys. This cache includes a camera for you to take a picture of yourself near Lizard Rock.

The trail to Lizard Rock can be accessed via Twin Eagles or Spruce Grove Campgrounds and will require a significant hike either way. There are trails leading to the rock from each campground that will take you into the Lost Creek Wilderness Area. The associated waypoint marks where you should leave the trail and head towards the cache. You can review previous logs for this cache for information on the routes from each campground.
