Congratulations to Larra-Three on their 1,000th geocache find!

Caching since 2009, Larra-Three consists of a husband & wife, their 8-year old son, and oftentimes Luna the Wonderdog! This team has done much to promote geocaching in the Lower Hudson region. They helped found the Lower Hudson Geocachers website (although the group is now more active on Facebook), have hosted the popular Picnic in Peekskill and Peekskill diner events, were instrumental in showcasing geocaching at the recent I Love My Parks Day, and have placed 32 caches (including several events) as of this publication. In addition, Mama L-3 is a charter member of WOOF (Women Only On Fridays).

This cache is an easy walk through varied terrain and vegetation. From the posted parking coordinates, follow the unmarked wood road to its junction with the yellow trail. Turn left on the yellow trail, and follow it to another unmarked wood road. There is a small stone cairn at this junction, and we have noted the coordinates as an additional waypoint. Turn left here and follow this trail to the cache. There is no need to bushwack.

There is a lot of swamp/marshland in this area, and we ran into many mosquitoes. Don't forget your insect repellent!

While in the area, you can also find Easter Island in Putnam.
