Alice no País das Maravilhas (título original em inglês: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, frequentemente abreviado para "Alice in Wonderland") é a obra mais conhecida de Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, publicada a 4 de julho de 1865 sob o pseudónimo de Lewis Carroll. É uma das obras mais célebres do género literário 'nonsense'. O livro conta a história de uma menina chamada Alice que cai numa toca de coelho que a transporta para um lugar fantástico povoado por criaturas peculiares e antropomórficas, revelando uma lógica do absurdo característica dos sonhos. A obra está repleta de alusões satíricas dirigidas tanto aos amigos como aos inimigos de Carrol, de paródias a poemas populares infantis ingleses ensinados no século XIX e também de referências linguísticas e matemáticas frequentemente através de enigmas que contribuíram para a sua popularidade. É assim uma obra de difícil interpretação pois contém dois livros num só texto: um para crianças e outro para adultos.
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, mais conhecido pelo seu pseudónimo Lewis Carroll (Daresbury, 27 de janeiro de 1832 — Guildford, 14 de Janeiro de 1898), foi um romancista, poeta e matemático britânico. Lecionava matemática no Christ College, em Oxford, e é mundialmente famoso por ser o autor do clássico livro Alice no País das Maravilhas e os poemas presentes neste livro, além de outros poemas escritos em estilo nonsense ao longo de sua carreira literária, são considerados por críticos, em função das fusões e da disposição espacial das palavras, como precursores da poesia de vanguarda. «Tudo tem uma moral: é só encontrá-la.», Lewis Carroll.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world (Wonderland) populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children.It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre, and its narrative course and structure have been enormously influential, especially in the fantasy genre.
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (27 January 1832 – 14 January 1898), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all examples of the genre of literary nonsense. He is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy, and there are societies in many parts of the world (including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand) dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life.
