CONGRATULATIONS TO HOLAZOLA ON FTF!

You need the following to locate the cache:   A Glen Annie Golf Course scorecard (Use only the scorecards provided in this cache's "View the Image Gallery")and scores for Player A and B (both male) from the 18 Hole Play-Off.

Hole # 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9...........................Player A 4 3 5 4 6 3 5 4 2    Player B 4 4 6 5 7 3 5 5 4

Assume that the Course rating and Slope has been correctly computed to determine the handicap of each player.

Using the USGA's System for handicapping Player A’s handicap is a 6 and Player B’s handicap is 18.

PROCEDURE: To locate the cache you will substitute numerical digits for the letters, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J in the cache coordinates ( N 34 AB.CDE, W -119 FG.HIJ ).  Find the answers to the following using the Glen Annie Golf Course scorecards displayed in this cache's "View the Image Gallery":

A)   The 14th most difficult hole for the Green and White course is hole #____.  Subtract the 10th most difficult hole of the Burgundy course (_____) to come up with “A”. ____   NOTE: USE CARD B!

B)   The second digit of the difference between the total yards of the Green course and the White course. ____  NOTE: USE CARD B

C)    The tenths (00.?) digit of the White course rating is ____, your answer is "C"  NOTE: USE CARD B

D)    Look at the scores for Player A and B.  Using the procedure for handicapping “MATCH PLAY” compute the NET score on each hole for each player and then compute each players overall NET score.   The difference between Player A’s overall NET score and Player B’s overall NET score is D. _____

E)   The second digit of the yardage of the 8th hole of the Green course.  _____  NOTE: EITHER CARD A OR B CAN BE USED

F)   Subtract the Gross Score of Players A & B (____).  Use the ones digit (?.0) for “F”.

G)   Look at the Burgundy  course.  Two holes on the front nine have the digit “2” in the tens place holder (?2?.0) for total yards of each hole.  Add the two hole numbers (#___+ #___), add 1 to the sum, and then divide by 9.  The answer is “G”.  NOTE: USE CARD B

H)   Compute the gross score for each player. Using the procedure for handicapping “STROKE PLAY” compute the overall NET score for each player. Subtract one NET score from the other and to your answer add 5. The sum is the letter “H”. _____ Player A’s NET stroke score=”x” Player B’s NET stroke score=”y” “y”-“x”=”z” (H)= “z”+5

I)   Subtract 32 from the sum of the hole numbers that contain an amphibian walk which is treated as an obstruction. ____NOTE: USE CARD B

J)   Add the number of hole(s) won by Player B in “MATCH PLAY” (as a result of having been given a handicap stroke) with the number of hole(s) he won outright (didn't need a stroke from Player A to win the hole) in “STROKE PLAY”. The sum is “J”______.  NOTE: USE CARD A
