Geocache Description:

The Hunua Ranges make up Auckland's largest forested landscape.
The park features tramping tracks, mountain biking, amazing scenery, swimming pools and waterfalls. The Hunua Ranges are also home to Auckland's only mainland population of one of  the kokako, and a refuge for the native Hochstetter's frog (pepeke).

Can be approached from Repeater Road parking spot or via the Mangatawhiri Dam Waterline/Wairoa Hill Roads. A very challenging bike ride but a pleasant walk along a regenerating bush ridge. The road back a bit of a drag.

Cache about half way along the Challenge Track- a place to rest after a punishing uphill climb.

Square camouflaged container with a collection of useful and not so useful artefacts.
