PT: No cimo do monte que separa a Prainha e a Marina da Quinta do Lorde destaca-se a pequena Capela de Nossa Senhora da Piedade. Esta capela foi edificada no século XVII.
Diz a lenda que um grupo de pescadores, vendo-se em aflição em alto mar, prometeu erguer uma capela a Nossa Senhora da Piedade se ela os salvasse de uma morte que parecia certa. A Santa salvou-os e escolhem para lugar de construção do orago o primeiro monte que avistam no Caniçal.

Desde há muitos anos, no 3º fim-de-semana do mês de Setembro, os habitantes do Caniçal levam a cabo uma procissão no mar em honra da Senhora da Piedade. A imagem venerada e os fiéis percorrem cerca de 4 km em barcos de pesca. Após o desenbarque na Quinta do Lorde sobem até ao alto do pico da Piedade.
Esta procissão, mobiliza a população que se empenha a fundo na organização da festa e da procissão. As ruas enfeitam-se de flores e luzes, a igreja embeleza-se de verduras e cor, as bandeiras de cores garridas pululam.
No Sábado a imagem sai da Igreja e vai de barco até à Capela da Senhora da Piedade onde pernoita. No Domingo regressa também por mar à Igreja de onde saiu. A procissão é acompanhada por cânticos dos devotos e pela música da banda da terra.
