Bergum, beläget i utkanten av Vättlefjäll, är ett område med gamla anor som idag härbärgar många spår från forna dagar. Denna cache låter dig ta del av en liten del av detta i form av en kort promenad på en av de gamla vägarna. Just denna väg finns redovisad 1827 och går med visst besvär att följa från Dansered till Mollsjönäs. Den vägbit du kommer se utnyttjas idag mest av ägare till moppar av såväl havre- som crossmodell vilket satt sina spår - det är rejäla kängor alternativt stövlar som gäller. När du kommit en bit torkar vägen dock upp ganska mycket och vid cachen ska det inte utgöra något problem. Passa på att titta efter spår av vilt - det finns det mycket av här!
Rekommenderad rutt:
1) Utgå från stigen som startar vid Korphyllan (see Waypoint). Här finns också möjlighet att (ful)parkera någon enstaka bil.
2) Följ gamla vägen in i skogen ca 500 m. Andra "avfarten" till vänster (se bild). Följ denna avfart en liten bit tills du når en plats med hygglig utsikt. Kontemplentera landskapet en stund och ta dig sedan ned till cachen.
3) Logga ditt besök. Bonuspoäng om du lyckas få en bild på dig eller valfri följeslagare på den stora stenen!
4) Ta dig förslagsvis ned för slänten, där kan du finna ännu en gammal väg och följa en kort bit ned (stövlar på igen) till civilisationen igen där du avslutar din lilla minivandring.
Vid utplaceringen innehöll cachen loggbok, penna och tre virkade figurer.

Bergum, located near the edge of Vättlefjäll, is an area with a rich history that's filled with remains from the olden days. This cache lets you experience a small part of this through a short walk on one of the old roads. This particular road was described in 1827 and can, with a bit of an effort, take you from Dansered to Mollsjönäs. The part of the road that you'll see is mostly used by horses and motocrosses today, which has left its marks - you'll want proper boots or wellingtons. When you've walked for a bit the road dries up considerably and you shouldn't experience any issues by the cache itself. Take the opportunity to look for signs of wild game - there's plenty here!
Recommended route:
1) Start at the path that begins at Korphyllan (see Waypoint). Here you will also be able to park a single car.
2) Follow the the old road for ca 500 m. The road will split twice to the left, follow the second split for a short bit (see photo "Andra avfarten") until you reach a spot with a clear(ed) view. Contemplate the landscape for a bit and then move on to the cache.
3) Log your visit. Bonus points if you can get a photo of yourself or an accomplice of your choice on the big rock!
4) I recommend to continue down the slope where you can find another old road and follow for a bit (wellingtons back on) back to civilisation where you end your mini-hike.
When originally placed the cache contained a log book, pencil and three crocheted creatures.
