Mega Ready in 2014?
Is South Australia Mega ready? We’re about to find out!
Join us at the Albion Hotel, Kilburn where we hope to be able to consider locations that local, interstate and international geocachers will come to for the event to get that “Mega” icon.

We believe that the location must have the following prerequisites:

Secure site with perimeter fencing all round.
Powered and un-powered camp sites.
Meeting hall / shed able to accommodate up to 300-400 people at any one time.
An administration centre for the duration of the event.
Nearby local attractions.

If you believe you know a location that fits the bill, this is the time and place to do so.

We propose that if you have a location in mind that you prepare a one page outline which can be distributed at this event detailing the following:

Location (obviously!)
Size of the site (demonstrating the ability to accommodate up to 1,000 people on site)
Facilities on the site (power, admin centre, meeting hall / shed, etc)
Nearby local attractions and why you think the location is suitable.
“Ball park” cost to hire the site as provided by the site.
Anything else you believe that “sells” the location as THE place to hold such an event.

Easter in 2014 will be from 18 April to 21 April with Anzac Day commemorated on 25 April, local and interstate travellers could consider taking leave for the three days between Easter Monday and Anzac Day and have a Mega Mega long weekend. This period is also school holidays in South Australia. This would allow local and interstate travellers to attend and spend a few days after the event in the region, or take the slow road back home.

There will be one and hopefully more locations to consider at the event. At the conclusion of the presentations a decision could be made on a location, or ore information be provided on no more than two locations n in order to make a decision at a future event in 4-6 weeks time at which a final decision can be made on the location of a potential SA Mega event.
