Kätkö on sijoitettu erikoiseen luonnonmuodostelmaan aika lähelle vilkkaasti liikennöityä Vaalimaantietä. Suuren Tupavuoren rinteeseen on muodostunut kauan sitten kalliokieleke, jota lähiseudun asukkaat ovat käyttäneet hyödyksi eri aikakausina. Perimätiedon mukaan sisällissotamme aikana miehiä oli piilossa kalliokielekkeen suojissa vastapuolen kostoiskuilta. Lisäksi viimeisten sotiemme aikana lähikylien asukkaita riensi pakoon venäläisten ilmapommituksia kalliokielekkeen suojaan. Venäläisten pommitukset kohdistuivat rautateiden Simolan suureen risteysasemaan ja itse Tupavuori kohosi Simolan aseman ja kalliokielekkeen välissä. Kalliokielekkeen avoin seinämä oli poispäin Simolan asemalta eli turvalliseen suuntaan, joten kalliokielekettä käytettiin hyväksi.
Paikalle pääsee vain kävelemällä ja talvella suksilla tai lumikengillä. Kalliokieleke tarjoaa oivan paikan eväiden nauttimiseen ja kiireettömään hetkeen keskellä metsäistä luontoa.
The cache is located in an unusual natural formation fairly close to the busy Vaalimaantie. A long time ago a ledge was formed on the slope of the big Tupavuori (Tupa mount) and the ledge was utilized in different eras by neighboring inhabitants. Tradition tells that during our civil war men were hiding behind the ledge to protect themselves from the revenge attacks of the opposite party. In addition the neighboring villagers used the ledge as a cover during our last wars against the Russian air bombings. The bombings were targeted at the big railway crossing in Simola and Tupavuori itself rose between the Simola station and the ledge. The open wall of the ledge is facing away from the Simola station, therefore into a safe direction, and thus the ledge was exploited.
The cache can only be found by foot or in winter it is possible to ski or use snow shoes. The ledge offers a fantastic place for enjoying a packed lunch and spending a leisurely moment in the middle of forested nature.
