At least 30 years ago somebody released one or more white rabbits here. They bred with the local wild rabbits and for some years after you could occasionally see a white rabbit grazing amongst the more normal brown ones. I saw them myself when working nearby in the late 80's, but I've not seen them recently. Maybe you'll be luckier than me?
The woods to the north are known as Soussons Plantation. I was told by locals they were originally planted by Polish Refugees during and after the war, but I can't verify that. They cover many ancient remains and workings, but not far away to the Southeast, between the road and the plantation, is the "Ringastan" - a very nice example of a Bronze Age stone circle containing 22 stones with a diameter of 8.6m and worth a look.
This area gets a tad soggy after heavy rain so although it's only a short walk from the road, boots may be a good idea.
