Grand Canal - Old Pipes Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Team Vorst: Thanks Graham for the reminder. We considered maintenance but realised soon that we will not be able to make it to Dublin. Anyway, two years is a fine period of time and we make room for new ideas and spots.

Thanks to all finders!

Geocache Description:

This cache will bring you to the Grand Canal Bridge at Leeson Street Upper. There is no need to climb on the pipes to find the cache.

Cycle and footways along the canal allow fast and short paths into the city centre or the grand canal dock as well nice after work recreation walks and runs. After you found the cache you may want to walk along the canal to watch the swans or have a rest on a nearby bench.

The Grand Canal (Irish: An Chanáil Mhór) is the southernmost of a pair of canals that connect Dublin, in the east of Ireland, with the River Shannon in the west, via Tullamore and a number of other villages and towns, the two canals nearly encircling Dublin's inner city. Its sister canal on the Northside of Dublin is the Royal Canal. The last working cargo barge passed through the Grand Canal in 1960. (Source: Wikipedia)
