An ammo can in the woods -- an oldie but a goodie! This will be a nice stroll in Sylvan Glen Park in Yorktown.
This is one of several caches placed throughout Yorktown in conjunction with I Love My Park Day held on May 5, 2012. This was a statewide effort to improve and enhance New York's parks and historical sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs. You can read more about I Love My Park Day here.
The posted parking coordinates are just off Stoney Street. Drive slowly when approaching, or you might drive right past! There is enough room for about a dozen cars.
When we placed the cache, we took the green trail from the posted parking coordinates to the red trail, just past the junction of the yellow trail. The cache is just off the red trail, near a small pond.
