Walk of Peace - Jomfrugata Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

Jomfrugata is a pedestrian street in the center of Trondheim. The cache is easy accessible, but you'll want to look out for mugglers.

As you can read in some logs, there has been some friendly contact with the personnel in the restaurant nearby and geocachers. The cache is not located on their property, but very close. I have spoken to them, and they have no problem with the cache. Anyway; please be carefull and respect their business.
The cache contains a logg only. Bring your own pen!

"Every second year the Student Peace Prize (SPP) is awarded to a student or a group of students who has worked to promote peace and human rights.

A few years ago the idea of creating a Walk of Fame inspired installation to honor the SPP laureates was born. This way we can ensure that the peace prize winners will be remembered and honored in the future. A design competition was initiated by ISFiT, and won by Åshild Herdlevær. February 2011 Walk of Peace was unveiled in Jomfrugata, in the middle of Trondheim’s city centre.

Walk of Peace is a project led by the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) to commemorate the laureates of the Student Peace Prize. Walk of Peace consists of seven plaques, one for each peace prize laureate. For every new prize winner a new stone is added, and in the future we hope to see the entire Jomfrugata decorated with plaques in the name of Student Peace Prize."
