[DE] Im Jahr 1984 beschloss der Tiroler Landtag den Bau eines Schüler- und Studentenheims - Anlass gab das 175 jährige Jubiläum der Tiroler Freiheitskämpfe von 1809. Aus einem Ideenwettbewerb ging Architekt Nocker hervor und wurde mit der Planung beauftragt. Den Bau führte die Tiroler Gemeinnützigen Wohnungsbau- und Siedlungs GES.M.B.H.(kurz TiGeWoSi) durch.
Baubeginn war der 28. März 1983, die Ferstigstellung erfolgte termingerecht im September 1984. Auf 4450 m2 Nutzfläche befand sich Platz für 200 StudentInnen (Einzel- sowie Doppelzimmer), mehrere Gemeinschaftsräume und eine Tiefgarage mit 30 Stellplätzen.
In den Jahren 2013 und 2014 wurde das Heim saniert und die Zimmeranzahl auf 157 Einzelzimmer und 102 Doppelzimmer erhöht - also 361 Heimplätze insgesamt. Die Gemeinschaftsräume im Erdgeschoss wurden ins Tiefgeschoss verlegt und durch Zimmer ersetzt. In diesem Zuge wurde aus dem 9-Monatsheim (Oktober bis Juli) ein 12-Monatsheim und die Preise deutlich angehoben.
Der Geocache befindet sich direkt vor dem Tirolerheim. Beim Heben auf die vielen Muggels achten! Nachts ist es etwas ruhiger. Vorsicht beim Zurücklegen des Caches, damit er nicht verloren geht.
[EN] In 1984 the tyrolean state parliament decided the construction of a scholar and students dormitory due to the 175th anniversary of the tyrolean fights for freedom of 1809 against Napoleon. Architect Nocker was charged of the planing, a society called TiGeWoSi performed the construction work.
Starting on 28. March 1983, the building took until September 1984. On 4450 m2 was place for 200 students (single and double rooms), some common rooms and a garage for 30 cars.
In 2013 and 2014 the building was restructured and the number of rooms increased to 157 single and 102 double ones. So now there is place for 361 students. The common rooms were moved to the basement and replaced by dormitory rooms. Also the prices have been increased and it is now a full year dormitory instead of 9 months only (October to July).
The geocache is in front of the Tirolerheim. Please account for the many muggles - at night it's easier. Pay attention to not lose the cache when returning it.
