Geocache Description:

The Cache is hidden on the famous Isla del Sol on the Lake Titicaca. You have to go there by boat. On the southern part of the Island there is a community called Yumani. On the top part of the village you have to find the path that leads up to the outlook (at about 4030m altitude). Because its so high you need to walk slowly. Once you get to the outlook you have to look towards the sunrise and for a marked rock (black sun) in the rock-fence that surrounds the outlook-building.

The Island of the Sun is a very pretty and special place. I recommend to stay at least one night at the island - there are many cheap hostels. To find the cache you have to go to the southern village named Yumani. If you arrive at the southern port you need to climb up the inca stairs all the way to the top. Once you get there, you need to find the trail that leads to the outlook/mirador to your right hand side. (If you come from the northern part of the island, its on your left hand side right after you enter the village). Walk up that path (slowly, as it is at high altitude). You will most likely pass by many donkeys, lamas and sheep. The path bends to the right and leads to a building, which you can climb. When you stand on top of it, look towards where the sun would rise. The building is build on a little plateau, which is supported and surrounded by a rock-fence. If you look towards the direction of the sunrise, you notice a tall, slim rock sticking out of the fence. Climb down behind this rock and find a little rock in the fence that is marked. The cache is located behind this rock. Its a black little box with a blue sicker on top. Inside the box is a logbook, as well as some items to trade. EDIT: As I cannot maintain the cache any longer because I moved to Australia, please, if you have the chance, try to mark or tag one of the rocks with a pen.
