Welcome to the Clare Caching Capers II June LWE for 2012

The tradition continues: Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, ‘Clare Caching Capers II’ is born.


More details will be updated as the event draws closer and details finalised.

When?

June Long Weekend (possibly 8th), 9th - 11th

Where?

Clare Valley Showgrounds

Game Zone will be released closer to the event.

Why?

To have fun, frivolity, adventure, camaraderie

Accommodation?

Camping on the show grounds is possible: There will be up to 48 powered sites scattered in the area for $20/night and as many unpowered sites as required for $10/night. Payment required on registration. Camping will be available from Friday night, please advise via email if you require Friday night camping. Be aware that there are only 3 showers on site.

$5-$10 Wrapped Prize for the Main Event

The exact program and game play is yet to be finalised by the organising committee.

Friday

– Early arrivers set up

Saturday morning 10-11am

– Check in, $20 per caching team (this is not necessarily your event team)

Saturday Early Evening 4pm

– Return cache placement co-ords and quarantine GPSr's for upload

Saturday Evening

– Dinner event for those who wish to attend. Limits may apply - page up will be listed shortly

Sunday Early morning 8:30 am

– Bacon and egg sandwich and coffee/tea at the Showgrounds. Supplied by Event

Sunday 9am

– Event briefing and photos. Cache hunting to start from 9:30am.

Sunday 3 to 4pm

– All caching to be finished. Logbooks and caches returned to Showgrounds. There will be severe point deduction for not being back on time, and there will be significant points for picking up your temporary cache after the completion of caching.

Sunday Early evening 5:30 pm

– Self cook BBQs will be available.

Sunday evening 6:30 pm

– Presentation night Green Theme
– Supper and prize presentations.
– Looking for Cacher's with a flair for performance, it would be greatly appreciated if these can be put forward to the organising committee prior to the event.

Monday morning

– recovery, clean up and drive home or attend the Ride the Reisling Trail Cache Event - see below.

The local police will be notified of the event so they will be able to respond to any queries by locals. We want this to be a safe event for all concerned anyone charged with a road traffic offence will be disqualified from the game. There are going to be a lot of children out there this weekend. Drive safe and observe speed limit.
