The event is about GEOCACHING. We present to you a new flavor of GEOCACHING (POKER STYLE!)

Northland Treasure Hunters Poker Run - 2012

On Saturday afternoon, June 2, 2012, the Minnesota Reviewers will release seven, yes, seven new geocaches in the Northland area.

Your task, should you accept it, will be to hunt down, locate, open, retrieve, sign, close, and return all seven of these new geocaches!

Each cache will contain sealed envelopes. Don't worry, the envelopes all look the same. The contents of each envelope are different. Each envelope holds one playing card of different value.

***Note*** You cannot cheat! The envelopes are sealed. All you do is take ONE from each GEOCACHE.

The goal is to build the best poker hand with your seven prizes from the seven geocaches.

You can begin your hunt for the geocaches anytime after they are posted.

We will gather at Arby's in West Duluth from 2-4 pm.

The winners will be announced. Prizes will be given to the top three hands of poker presented at the Judges Table.

REMEMBER: NO CHEATING! You cannot use any private decks. Your envelopes must remain sealed until presented at the judges table.

We will have a complete list of rules on the day of the event, so don't stress too much beforehand. I would advise you to load up your GPSr with plenty of Northland Geocaches, especially if you don't get up this way very often, as the temporary caches will be close to many permanent ones - and what's an event without Geocaching!

You are welcome to attend either the Social on Saturday afternoon, the Poker Run Sunday afternoon or both.
