You may be thinking hydrant in the woods. In providing fire service to the local community having speedy access to water is important. Previous to this hydrant being placed, the fire department had to bring equipment in, haul it down over the bank, and set up a pumping system to draw water up from the brook. That process has been simplified by this funny looking addition.
Please note the cache is NOT placed ON the hydrant so please do not touch it.
