Geocache Description:

Welcome to Scott County, VA! The Scott County Tourism Committee is placing caches throughout the county to highlight certain points of interest and historical sites. We hope that you'll enjoy these caches. Check out our new "Virginia is for" Geotrail. For this hunt you'll be looking for an ammo can.

Welcome to Scott County, VA and the TB Depot! Stop by and drop off a travel bug, but only take one if you plan to help it along on it's travels. Why take a travel bug if you're not going to log it? I know there are lots of geocachers that travel through here going to lots of interesting places. Take one of the travel bugs at the TB depot because I know it would love to tag along and find a new cache somewhere out there. Please try to leave a TB if you decide to take one from the cache.
If you like different types of interesting train memorabilia then this is the place for you! If the owner is home you may even get the chance to tour a real caboose! This is a very unique and interesting spot in our county and the owner will let you tour it all free! Make sure you have your geo-camera because you'll want to get plenty of geo-pics!
The cache is placed with permission on private property. If you decide to drop by and grab this cache please take a few minutes to talk to the owner and thank him for letting us have this cache here. He loves to talk about his train collection and meet new people!
This is a great place for travel bugs, geo-coins, and pathtags because it is right beside of Hwy 23 and you can stop by easily to drop off and retrieve a trackable. You can park in the owners driveway. Please be sure to place the cache back exactly as you found it and don't disturb anything while you're here. This cache was orginally owned by another local geocacher but it has been transferred to Scott County Tourism. Have a great time and Happy Hunting!
Please consider adding a Fave toward our TBHoA Award.
