Geocache Description:

a camo film canister, not far from parking

This is the first in my new series in San Saba County. I want to cache all of the cemeteries. This first one is not to far from another cache that I have set up. Hope you find both.

The cemetery is named after John H. "Shorty" Brown.
Here is what the historical marker reads,
"After living for a time in Arkansas, John H. "Shorty" Brown (1817-1896), His wife Jane Ann, and some of their children cam here. Brown helped found San Saba in 1854 and became a civic leader, although San Saba county provided a graveyard, Brown and his wife deeded this plot were their home for a family burial ground. Jane Ann, who bore 17 of Brown's 21 childre, was probably the first burial here about 1874. Brown's son and a son-in-law who were murdered are buried here along with other family members and friends. (1980)"

Come take a look at this small family cemetery. Happy hunting.
