Geocache Description:

Please write an interesting log, not just TFTC or a cut and paste - I enjoy reading about your visit and it's very boring to get dull logs. Be inventive!

Just off the Templer Way, also known as the Haytor Granite Tramway (See link), is an unusual Silver Birch. It sports burrs not just on its bole but along the branches.

The Templer Way continues down the hill, skirts the southern edge of Yarner Woods, then pops out to the road, on through Great Plantation and Stover. A fine walk in its own right.

Suggested parking waymarked, the direct route from the road is NOT recommended - no safe parking and it's steep!

Placed by permission of Dartmoor National Park and adhering to the Letterbox Code of Conduct. Although only a short way off the road, be aware Dartmoor can be unforgiving and thick fogs could disorientate you even this close. Dress well!
