Geocache Description:

You are looking for a nano a block from where Chef Peter Ballarin has worked for over 25 years. The cache is outside of the beautiful and tiny garden at Mt. Vernon Square. Though you are free to go into the garden, the cache is on the outside. Please wedge cache back into place.

Peter Ballarin

Peter Ballarin came from a long line of bakers tracing back into the foothills of the Italian Dolomites. As a boy and a young man, Peter worked hard in the Massachusetts bakery of his father who had been trained by Peter’s grandfather. His formal training was at the Culinary Institute.

As chef and owner of the Hungry I, Ballarin’s dedication has succeeded in building a lasting restaurant business. The Hungry I has been in the same location since 1986, a beautiful brownstone on Charles Street at the base of Beacon Hill. For over 25 years, Ballarin has maintained the old world charm of an intimate and romantic French restaurant as others come and go.
