An adventure cache in a very remote location.
This cache is located on top of what I'm guessing is a part of Dan's Mountain and has a wonderful overlooking view of LaVale, Maryland. A friend and I decided to go out and find a challenging hike to place a cache. After driving around for a little while looking for a cool location to hike, we noticed a cool spot. We pulled into Applebee's in LaVale and decided to hike up the power lines (to the left of Applebee's) to the top of the mountain. In route to the summit, we stopped and talked to a few home owners in the area to make sure they didn't mind us hiking up the power lines. Everyone was very nice, said they didn't mind us hiking up the power lines and actually gave us some history on the area.
This cache is in a VERY remote location and VERY difficult to get too, especially if you go the route we choose. I would recommend good health and good footwear for this cache. I did notice on Google Maps that there is a road called Old MacDonald Road that would take you half way up the mountain but I don't know if the road is Private property or not. I don't know if there is a better way to reach the cache than the way we took but we just enjoyed the challenge of the hike. All I can say is good luck!
