The Dartmoor National Park has been divided into 70 4km squares
(with smaller and irregular areas at the edges) and you need to
find (or own) a cache in each of these squares or areas.
The following rules apply:
- Caches must be Found in 2012 or later
- Caches must be of type Traditional or Letterbox Hybrid
- Caches owned by you and which were Published in 2012 or later
also qualify for this challenge, but they must be available at the
time you log your find
- Archived or disabled caches OWNED by you DO NOT qualify
- If a qualifying cache FOUND by you has been disabled or
archived, this will still qualify as this is beyond your
control
- The boundary of the Park is as shown on OS Map OL28
- Caches must not have been placed on any road or verge of any
road that marks the boundary of the Park (eg A30, A38, A386,
etc)
- The CO of this cache will be the sole judge of which caches
qualify
- To log a find you must publish a Bookmark List of your
qualifying caches
- You can log a find on this cache on the same trip that you
complete your qualification, but you cannot count this cache as one
of the 70.
You do NOT need to register to take
part in this challenge. However, it would be very helpful if you
can add this cache to your watchlist, so that if I need to make any
announcement you will see it.
Restricting qualifying caches to those found in 2012 or later
attempts to set a level playing field for everybody attempting to
qualify for this challenge. Caches found prior to 2012 DO NOT
qualify.
The map above shows the location of the 70 squares and areas.
Each area is labelled with the 4 digit OS grid reference of the
south west corner of the square. The suffix indicates that each
square is 16 square km.
I would like to thank Phil of the LympstoneBogtrotters for the
inspiration for this cache.
Phil has kindly offered to maintain a Bookmark List of the
qualifying caches for this challenge cache.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although this cache is
not within a Military Range where live firing occurs, some of the
caches you need to find will be. You must check out the Firing
Notices before entering any range. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE WHEN THE
RED FLAGS ARE FLYING. Never pick up any metal objects, they may be
unexploded devices.

The weather on Dartmoor can change
suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can
be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing
and map & compass (and know how to use them). Please do NOT
rely solely on your GPS.
I would like to thank the Dartmoor National Park Authority for
their kind permission to allow me to place this series of
caches.
