Geocache Description:

This is my first hide-a two-part series. Please note: Despite how they look, THESE ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE TACONIC PARKWAY- DO NOT STOP ON THE TACONIC! The Trail Head is located right at the west side of the Peekskill Hollow Road overpass. You can park along the roadside with the park-and-ride folks. A rugged, but beautiful trail, approximately .9 miles North, will take you to within 25 yards of it. If you're ambitious, you can Hike another mile or so and grab the "Upland Paradise" cache by bacmac.

This is a quiet area in the southern section of Fahnestock State Park. It provides an eastern view of the Taconic State Parkway. The Taconic was completed in its present form in the early 1960s. In 2005 the entire highway, including its supporting structures, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its historic importance in the development of parkways in the 20th century. It is the second-longest continuous road listed on the Register after Virginia's Skyline Drive, and the longest limited-access highway.

The cache itself is a large, screw-top, camouflaged, container. Once you get to the location, not too hard to find.

This one has some goodies! In the initial treasure is a book for the FTF, handwarmers, 1st-Aid Kit, a tape measure, a carabiner/bottle-holder, shoelaces, toys and tchotchkes.

Happy Hunting, hope you enjoy!
