A micro hidden at the very edge of the, now seldom used, public
footpath which crosses the churchyard. Although it may look on
Google Earth like it is in someone's garden it is not. If you look
at the historical imagery option on GE for 2003 you can clearly see
the footpath.

The chancel of the church of St Mary Magdalen was built in the late
Norman period, circa 1160. In medieval times Ripley was always
linked to Send and it is first recorded in 1204. The church was
enlarged and restored in 1846 and further work was done on it in
1869. Send, including Ripley, belonged to Newark Priory, the ruins
of which stand in the meadows of the River Wey nearby. It remained
the property of the priory until the Dissolution in the late 1530s.
In 1544 Henry VIII granted the manor of Send to Sir Anthony Browne,
Master of The King’s Horse.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I
would just ask that you could let
Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church
numbers and names to avoid duplication
