Geocache Description:

The Topographical Basepoint of Hungary (Ordnance Datum of Nadap) is an obelisk gridled with iron-fence. It's on a very acient hill with practically constant height. This is the basepoint of all of Hungary's topographical measurment. It's height is not absolutely constant as this point rose 32 mm in the last few decades compared to the zero-level of the Adriatic sea.

To access the town of Nadap, leave highway M7 at the Velence exit. Leave your car at the parking place near to the obelisk, then walk up to the close hill with black pines. The cache is under pine-needles and the low branches of pines. It's a 28 cm diameter, 11 cm high plastic box.
The short but pretty dense pinetrees can hide the satellites from the gps, but you can have 5 m accuracy on a little glade. From there the cache is only 10m away and the cache site is obvious for a practiced geocacher.

We wish you a successful hunt,

Anikó and Miki
